Pix from Sister's Outdoor Quilt Show

It's generally very hot in Sister's this time of year so we always get there as early as possible and go to the teacher's tent first before it gets to crowded.
First up is Joe Cunningham.  He was the speaker at the Friday night program.

Next up; Tula Pink.  She had quite a number of quilts on display.  I think they were all from her new book composed in collaboration with Angela Walters.

I imagine these are mostly her fabrics too?
Tula has a great sense of color and design.  She uses a lot of novelty prints, barrows a lot from traditional quilting while adding new ideas to her designs that make them her own. A very fun group of quilts to view and study!  I do wonder if she had help in the construction of some of these?  There were so many, some fairly complex and all produced in a relatively short period of  time.
This is just the tip of the quilt display.
I will post more in a few days.
cheers, Claire W.
