Weeeeell I've been struggling with that space between the center and the outer border (see last post); but, one thing I decided was I was not going to weenie out and use a solid strip for the third border of the center! So I worried over that for a couple of days and then sometime in the early AM of Sunday this solution came to me and I quick sewed a sample (before I forgot my idea) and I'm liking it! At this rate I'm not sure the Halloween finish date is realistic but, I'm sure the rest will get filled in .. eventually!
Have a wonderful week!

looking really cute. I love the center panel!
ReplyDeleteYou need to look at Bonnie's quilts to get ideas for pieced borders!!
;-)
I'm not sure which quilt you are referring to?!
DeleteI'm not really a fan of halloween fabrics, but this is coming together very nicely. You make me almost want to experiment with some myself!:) Glad you're keeping to the pieced border idea, it's giving the quilt some 'take me seriously' vibes. Panels are hard to work with, but you're making it all work!
ReplyDeleteThanks Audrey. Yes, That's a good way of putting it, how do I make it look like 'take me seriously". I did not start out with any elaborate plans but as I'm going along I can see that's what it's going to take! Oh well more lessons to learn....cheers, CW
DeleteOh, nice solution! Maybe next Halloween if not this one...:-)
