Top 5 gift ideas

I really like to make  gifts for my family and friends at Holiday times.  Quilts are nice if it's a special occasion, new baby, wedding Birthday etc.  But for the Winter Holidays I usually make small items like pot holders, Aprons, hats, mufflers, and caps.  On Dec. 16 I posted a picture of a small wall hanging I made for my son this year and Dec, 18th a cap for his wife.  Those were easy 'cause they asked for those things.  We don't really do lavish gift giving in my family so little home made things are perfect to say "Happy Holidays and I love you!". 

Here's a little crib quilt that I recently finished quilting for a friend.  I'll bind it and it will be donated to the  local neonatal ward. 

I used a lovely soft flannel for the backing 
And a fluffy wool batting
Should make a wonderful warm wrap for a new baby!

    WoW! That looks complex. It's so wonderful. What size is it? Seems like those pieces must be kinda small.

      Hmmm, Sorry I should have included the size! I's really small, 36'x 39' that's why I think it would be best used by a 'new born'. I think the THS's are 2".

Winter Blog Hop and Crumbs

Here on the Central Coast of California we really can't complain about Winter toooo much 'cause nature is pretty kind to us.  We do get the occasional high winds, power outages, and if it rains for several days in a row with high tides; low parts of the town have been known to flood (that really can be a problem).  But we've none of that bitter cold stuff or shoveling snow 'til you are so tired you could just spit.  But I'm happy to be in the blog hop just to say hello and exchange info. and ideas so here's my give away... I've been playing around with jelly rolls lately.  Because I'm toooo cheap to pay someone else to cut my strips for me I've been making up my own.  So here's a bunch of strips I put together; 10 - 5" strips (one strip is hiding in the picture).  That's equal to 1/2 of a jellyroll.   I know-   jelly rolls are 2.5" strips but I figured you can cut them in half if you want or you can use the extra width for wh...
